Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has called on Kenyans to report cases of school land grabbing by preparing and submitting relevant land documents to her office.

Speaking in South B while inspecting the progress of the area market, Wahome directed principals, headteachers, and communities of affected schools to take the documents to Ardhi House to facilitate the Ministry’s efforts in reclaiming grabbed lands.

Public schools remain highly vulnerable to land grabbing, with reports indicating that nearly 70 percent lack proper ownership documents. Wahome assured that her Ministry is assembling teams to ensure all grabbed school lands, as well as those under threat, are returned to their rightful owners.

The CS also revealed her next major initiative—securing the return of Lavington Primary School land, which has been the subject of a prolonged dispute involving private developers.

The government’s renewed efforts signal a crackdown on land grabbers as authorities push to safeguard public school properties across the country.
