The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Chairperson, David Njengere, has directed all school headteachers to ensure that Grade 6 candidates are re-registered for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) through the designated portal.

Speaking on Friday, Njengere announced that the registration process for the November KPSEA exams had begun, with the deadline set for February 28. Schools must log into the KNEC Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal using their assessment center credentials to complete the registration.

The KPSEA portal is a web-based system designed to manage the registration process efficiently, with an audit trail feature to enhance accountability and data integrity.

Additionally, Njengere urged school administrators to review and correct any candidate details within the registration period. He emphasized the importance of accurate data entry, including the correct spelling of names as per birth certificates, gender, year of birth, citizenship, religious education choices, and disability status.

For learners with disabilities, school heads must select the appropriate category—such as blind, low vision, deaf, or physical disability—while those without any should be marked as “None.”

With the registration deadline fast approaching, KNEC is calling on all schools to comply promptly to ensure a smooth assessment process.
