Infotrak Research’s latest survey has ranked Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja among Kenya’s lowest-performing county leaders, placing him 37th out of 47. The ranking follows a December 2024 report by Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o, which revealed that Nairobi was among 10 counties that spent nothing on development from July to October.
Sakaja refuted the claims, stating his administration allocated Ksh.844 million to projects but faced delays due to a lack of Treasury disbursements in the first two months of the fiscal year.
Meanwhile, Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata topped the rankings with a 68% approval, followed by Trans Nzoia’s George Natembeya (64%), Homa Bay’s Gladys Wanga (61%), and Kisumu’s Anyang’ Nyong’o (59%).
