Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has declared an end to the financial standoff between the Nairobi County Government and Kenya Power after a highly publicized feud earlier this week.

Speaking at a press conference, Sakaja confirmed that an amicable solution was reached following discussions with Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

The dispute, which has dragged on for years, involved:

  • KSh 4.9 billion claimed by the county government from Kenya Power.
  • KSh 3 billion counterclaimed by Kenya Power against the county.

With both parties agreeing to resolve their differences, Sakaja emphasized the importance of cooperation and ensuring uninterrupted services for Nairobi residents.
