The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has expressed concern over remarks made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during a recent visit to Meru County.
Gachagua warned President William Ruto against visiting Meru if Chief Justice Martha Koome is removed from office, a statement the NCIC believes could fuel ethnic divisions and tension.
In a statement, the commission cautioned political leaders against making inflammatory comments that could incite animosity among communities, urging them to promote unity and national cohesion.
