Meru – A report by Auditor General Nancy Gathungu has revealed questionable expenditures under embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, including Ksh.2.5 million spent on internet installation at the county headquarters and revenue board offices, despite similar services having been budgeted for and installed in the previous financial year (2023/24).

The report further exposes Mwangaza’s administration for failing to pay contractors a total of Ksh.284 million, causing pending bills to surge by 27% compared to the previous year.

Additionally, Ksh.36 million was allocated to two major projects that have yet to commence, raising concerns about mismanagement and stalled development initiatives.

The findings add to Mwangaza’s woes, as scrutiny over financial accountability in Meru County continues to intensify.
