Meru County Senator Kathuri Murungi has stated that payments for former councillors have not been made due to the absence of a legal framework to facilitate the disbursement, as explained by Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi.
However, Senator Murungi expressed optimism that the issue will be resolved, following guidance from the Senate Speaker, who has directed relevant committees to convene and address the matter to ensure the payments are processed accordingly.
