The government has announced a major review of the police training curriculum to equip officers with skills necessary to combat emerging crimes, including cyber-related offences.

Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, saysthe review aims to produce well-rounded officers capable of handling contemporary security challenges.

“We are reviewing the police curriculum to ensure it is holistic and equips officers with the skills needed to handle new forms of crime,” Omollo stated.

The revised curriculum will cover terms of service, remuneration, capacity building, mental health, and the use of technology in law enforcement. It will also focus on tackling cyberbullying, content-related crimes, and the protection of children from online dangers.
