The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has promoted 738 police officers across different ranks in a move aimed at boosting morale and strengthening leadership within the force.
In a statement, the commission confirmed that the promoted officers were drawn from the Kenya Police Service, Administration Police Service, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Among those promoted are:
- 14 officers elevated to Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police (SAIG)
- 51 officers promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG)
- 135 officers upgraded to Commissioner of Police (CP)
- 277 officers moved to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)
- 261 officers elevated to Superintendent of Police (SP)
Additionally, 50 civilian staff within the National Police Service (NPS) have been upgraded across various cadres.
The promotions follow recommendations from Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and professionalism within the police service.
