Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has criticized President William Ruto ahead of his five-day tour of the Mount Kenya region, urging him to launch new projects instead of relying on those initiated by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in Wangige, Kiambu County, on Monday, Gachagua accused Ruto of failing to deliver tangible development to the region and dismissed his upcoming visit as mere rhetoric. He further labeled the President a “perpetual liar” and urged residents to demand accountability.

Ruto is set to begin his tour on Tuesday, where he will commission completed projects, inspect ongoing developments, and launch new initiatives in Laikipia, Nyeri, Meru, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, and Kiambu counties. This marks his first visit to the region in nearly six months.
