Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah faced a hostile reception from an irate crowd during President William Ruto’s visit to Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, on Thursday, April 3.
Ichung’wah was among the leaders accompanying the President at the launch of the Last Mile Connectivity project as Ruto continues rolling out state initiatives in the Mt. Kenya region.
While the residents appeared receptive to the President’s speech, tensions rose when the Kikuyu MP took the microphone. Videos captured from the event show the crowd breaking into jeers and whistles, momentarily disrupting his address.
Despite efforts to calm the situation, the heckling highlighted apparent discontent among sections of the public, underscoring growing political tensions within the region.
