Police in Nakuru are holding a man accused of poisoning and killing his two sons, aged 7 and 12, before attempting to take his own life.

The suspect, identified only as Robert, a boda boda rider, is currently under tight police surveillance while receiving treatment at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital.

According to the victims’ mother, the tragic incident occurred on Thursday while she was away at work. She explained that she had briefly returned home to restock supplies and noticed her husband’s motorcycle outside, assuming their children were safe.

Later, while making tea deliveries, two of her other children arrived at her workplace, reporting that their siblings were crying and in distress. She rushed home to find them suffering from severe diarrhea, with excrement all over the house.

Neighbors helped rush the boys to the hospital, where she was shocked to discover that their father had also been admitted. Sadly, both boys succumbed while receiving treatment.

Their bodies are currently at the Nakuru Hospital mortuary as police interrogate their father over the disturbing incident.
