Githunguri Member of Parliament, Gathoni Wamuchomba, has intensified her criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration, alleging financial misconduct involving Ksh20 million meant for a development project in her constituency.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, April 9, Wamuchomba accused a senior official at the National Treasury—specifically the Principal Secretary—of embezzling funds allocated in 2023 for the fencing of the Githunguri Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Institute.

In a bold and defiant move, the outspoken legislator said she was willing to be arrested if her claims were proven false. “Let them come for me if I’m wrong,” she said, doubling down on her stance.

This latest outburst comes just days after Wamuchomba was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over her recent “Ruto must go” remarks made ahead of President William Ruto’s scheduled tour of the region.

In a viral video, the MP urged residents of Githunguri to boycott the President’s rally, escalating tensions between her and the ruling coalition. Following her DCI appearance on Monday, April 7, she made yet another troubling claim — that her life was in danger.
