Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were succumbed to excessive bleeding after sustaining five gunshot wounds, a post-mortem conducted by Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor has confirmed.
The autopsy, carried out following the MP’s fatal shooting on Ngong Road, revealed that bullets tore through several of his vital organs, leading to rapid organ failure and ultimately death. Dr. Oduor stated that the extent of internal injuries and the speed of blood loss left little chance for survival.
The late MP was ambushed by an assailant who had reportedly been trailing him on a motorcycle. The attacker disembarked, fired at least five rounds, and fled the scene. The bullets struck Ong’ondo in the chest and hands, with critical damage to internal systems.
Investigations into the motive and identity of the gunman are ongoing. Police have urged members of the public with any information to come forward.
