The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Unit was established in 2000 within the then Ministry of Education, Youth and sports .Learning and developing work related skills drives these institutions. Annually the TVETs hold fairs in the different regions in the country that is Western, Coast, Rift valley, Eastern and Nairobi regions.This year’s annual affair was held In Meru County and the occasion was graced by TVET principal secretary Margret mwakuma.The main aim of this year’s affair was the role of science, technology, and innovations in the Covid 19 era. The affair also aims at providing solutions to challenges facing the community at large.These solutions are developed by students from various institutes whereby the innovations cut across sectors such as agriculture, Food and energy.The affair seeks to commercialize the innovations from students with collaboration from Kenya association of manufactures.Meru national polytechnic emerged the best the robotic category as well as the overall winner.
