Mathira Member of Parliament and Kenya Kwanza Deputy presidential candidate Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he is backing Deputy president, Dr William Ruto as the coalition Presidential candidate because he believes he will in turn back him when his time comes.
Gachagua while speaking during the deputy presidential candidates debate yesterday at Catholic University of East Africa cited that him and the Deputy President will have no time to engage in non-beneficial quarrels as they are inheriting a country that is in a great mess that they really have to work extra hard and in unity to fix should they be elected as the next President and Deputy president come August 9.
“At no time will William Ruto ever punish or mistreat me because he has no reason to. I will support him to be the president and he will reciprocate that support. Between me and him, we’re in agreement that we have no time to quarrel or disagree,” he said.
“We are inheriting a dilapidated country; a county that is on its knees economically. We are inheriting a Ksh.9 trillion debt; we are inheriting 6 million young people with no jobs; 14 million Kenyans who are in CRB. We have such a big task ahead of us that is unimaginable that William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua will digress on personal issues and petty matters. We have no time for sideshows, personal differences, inferiority complex and competition that is unnecessary. We have a job to do.
Gachagua cited that Kenya would be a better place than it is now if only President Uhuru allowed Deputy President Dr William Ruto work with him.
