The desperation is reaching enormous levels at Old Trafford. With a disastrous start in the Premier League, an expected protest from the fans ahead of Monday’s game with Liverpool and an equally bad transfer window, United’s brass had to act quickly, so a delegation from Manchester flew to Madrid for two potential bids. One has already been turned down, while the other never happened, at least not yet.Brazilian international Casemiro is the latest name on the never-ending United’s list. It seems that Manchester’s sporting sector is totally out of compass and direction, as they go from one to another target in panic. How else can anyone explain why they ever considered buying Adrian Rabiot, an average midfielder from a fourth-placed Juventus and then, only when he overpriced his wage, turn to a five-time Champions League winner from Madrid? He should have been their number 1 target since his countrymen Fred cannot be a reliable option for United’s midfield. Casemiro has become a serial winner since joining Madrid, helping them win 18 major trophies. He has a winning mentality and would be an immediate upgrade on United’s current midfield options. He has made 336 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals and grabbing 29 assists. His latest assist came in the Super Cup win over Eintracht Frankfurt last Wednesday night, as Madrid recorded a 2-0 win and was voted MVP. He is loved by his teammates; he has an excellent relationship with Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez likes him. So, why would he join a last-placed Premier League club that will play in Europa League? For starters, he may want a change, however, it sounds strange. Second of all, United is offering almost double the wage of Real, and they are willing to do it in a five-year deal. But the Royal club has not received any offers so far. United delegation talked with his agent and want to know if the player wants to make a switch and then they will offer around 60 million as a first bid. Real is waiting for Casemiro to come out and says he wants a move.Unlike Real, Atletico Madrid got the official offer for their future star Joao Felix for 130 million euros and turned it down immediately. The other big club in Madrid is willing to sell its youngster, but only if a release clause of 350 million is met. La Liga winners in 2020 had a modest transfer window, but in return decided to keep their best players, and with 23, the Portuguese forward is seen as the future star, and the player is also very happy in Madrid. Why did they ever bothered bidding for him in the first place?
