1 WEEK OLD INFANT ABANDONED IN A CLASSROOM AT KAIRUNI PRIMARY SCHOOL IN CHOGORIA RESCUED A one week old baby girl was discovered last night dumped in one of the classrooms at Kairuni primary school in Chogoria ward of Maara Constituency.According to Charles Kithinji a night guard at the facility,he heard cries of the baby around 9 pm in the evening and upon searching he found the infant placed on a locker in one of the classes.Kithinji alerted the institution Chair person who then called the area manager Mutembei Kirauni and who took home the baby with him awaiting to know the fate of the young angel.Confirming the incidence,Chogoria Chief George Mutembei has besieged the mother of the kid to come out since the girl is healthy and safe, further promising to offer support to her if at all she did the act out frustrations by life situations.”The infant is safe and healthy and thus i don’t see the need for the mother to abandon her after a whole 9 months.It is difficult taking care of a week old baby but i am hopeful through Child Welfare Society all will be well,” he said.This comes barely a month after a day old baby was discovered dumped by the road side in the same Ward with culprit remaining unknown to date. Weather the mother will come out to claim the baby remain a thing to wait and observe.1
